A tribute to our mentor by Jeena Peter

Over the years Amarnath Raja has contributed significantly towards popularizing the Internet among the masses. As students, we used to be bowled over by his simple explanations that brought the concepts to a level which we could relate to.

At InApp, he was instrumental in laying the foundation for the Technology Management Group to do training, discussions on technology and designs. Later around 2016, Amar widened the scope and started the Technology Management Office that looked into Project solutions, code reviews, alternate solutions and monthly talks. These monthly talks involved employees and distinguished guests including Sasi Pilacheri Meethal (Former CEO IT Parks), Joy Sebastian (Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Techgentsia Software), Prof. Achuthsankar S. Nair, (Department of Comp. Biology & Bioinformatics, University of Kerala) and many others.

TMO became the primary technology stakeholder in projects including identification of architectures, solutions, a place where people from any division could reach out and discuss their issues and find solutions.

TMO Newsletter was started under his leadership to bring learnings in projects and technology across people and teams.

Amar's vision was to bring together more people who are passionate about technology and share their learnings. Be it AI, Cloud or Blockchain, he believed in being hands on and set his expectations as such. Even as recently as in March 2020 when Covid struck the world, he soon came out with a Python notebook fitting a curve to the daily infection count published in a website. The childlike excitement and inquisitiveness that was palpable in that email was typical Amar.

Our mentor is no longer with us, but forever will remain our guiding star to look up to.
